Just how sensitive the brakes should be on an electric skateboard has been debated since the invention of electric skateboards.
If the default settings on the Interstellar isn't quite doing it for you, we have some good news for you. The throttle curve settings are 100% customizable. This is exactly one of the reasons this board exists in the first place. Customizability is everything.
Follow the steps outlined below to alter the settings.
Step 1 - Download the Vesc Tool
Click Here To Download the latest VESC Tool for PC.
Step 2 - Gain Access to the FocBox
Next we'll need to pop your enclosure off. Use the included tools to take off the 22 phillips screws from the top of your board. Once they are off the enclosure with all of the electronics will fall free from the board. The enclosure is still connected to your motors so be very careful when handling the loose enclosure.
Step 3 - Connect the FocBox to Your PC via USB
Step 4 - Connect the FocBox to the VESC Tool
Below is a video that shows how to get the FocBox connected to the VESC Tool.
This video goes into detail on how to program the entire FocBox. In this case, please follow time stamp 1:27-1:36.
Step 5 - Adjust the Throttle Curve
Below is a video all about throttle curve and how to select the values.
Be sure to save your work by clicking on the "Write App Configuration Button".
Once your work is saved, click on the "Disconnect" button to disconnect the FocBox from the VESC Tool.
Step 6 - Reattach The Enclosure
Before reattaching all 22 screws. Add 6-8 screws to keep the enclosure from falling off so you can take your board out for a ride to test your new settings. This way if you need to adjust them again you don't have to go through all 22 again. Once your settings are the way you like them, go ahead and install the remaining hardware.
